Shop Steward Orientation
Shop Stewards are the representatives of the Union in the workplace. They voluntarily serve their co-workers by informing them of their rights and responsibilities under the Collective Agreement, answering questions, helping resolve problems, handling grievances, and educating fellow workers about union policies! Shop Steward Orientation is a two-day course (9:00 am - 5:00 pm both days) that provides you with all the basics to get started as a Shop Steward for your Local with the Yukon Employees Union. All YEU education is free, and if you are scheduled to work during a course, you can apply for Union Leave as a Shop Steward.
Orientations occur bi-monthly on the last Thursday and Friday of the month. Check out our Events and RSVP below on the next available dates!
