Union Night School: workers ending silo culture

How many of us have complained about our “siloed work styles” and been frustrated by our seeming inability to coordinate across work units or departments, yet felt helpless to do anything OTHER than complain? Is there really nothing we can do ourselves—without waiting for permission—to work together in a better way, achieving common goals?

Come to this public service employee-focused evening of Local Y010’s Union Night School, where we’ll cover topics like:

  • How to build consensus from the “bottom up”;
  • Working effectively across work units, while respecting required approval chains;
  • Building trust and empathy with our colleagues and fellow workers; and
  • Employee roundtable on antidotes to silo culture.

About Union Night School: these drop-in, peer-to-peer union education nights are organized by members of YEU/PSAC Local Y010. Union Night School is free for all working and unemployed people to attend. YEU members’ wages are not covered to attend these volunteer-produced evening events.
